Court Use Priorities for Club Members
Organised Play: Courts are reserved for organised social and competitive play for club members on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Public Holiday afternoons and designated events such as the Club Championships.
Visitors of club members, including family who are non-members, must pay a ‘visitor fee’ to MLTC prior to play.
Reservations: At ALL other times, a reservation is required with the Manly Tennis Centre (MTC) to use the club courts. Reserved play is limited to 1-hour for hitting sessions or singles and to 90-minutes for doubles play. To reserve a court, players must make a booking for court usage at least 1-day in advance, listing the names of the players on the reservation. Members must vacate any reserved court if other members are waiting to play at the conclusion of play.
-
Non-Club Member Play
Non-club member play means play outside of the club hours published above.
MTC (Scott) controls the hiring of ALL courts for public play, private coaching, competitions and functions OUTSIDE of the designated Club Play times.
Personal Hire: Additional member play may be available outside of Club Play Times either on a paid hire or an occasional goodwill basis which is dependent on MTC’s management policy, court usage and court conditions.
While MTC has always been generous in accommodating such members’ requests, nevertheless to ensure there are NO misunderstandings and as a courtesy, before play please contact MTC to ascertain court availability and to make a personal reservation. Court costs are the responsibility of the member(s) booking a court.
Visitors of club members, including family who are non-members, must sign with MTC and pay a fee to MTC prior to play.

I am visiting, can I play social tennis?
The Manly Lawn Tennis Club plays mixed social tennis every Tuesday, Thursday and most Saturdays afternoons.
Visitors MUST be of a reasonable tennis standard to play social tennis with members and
are required to wear correct tennis attire and shoes. The Manly Tennis Centre offers lessons for tennis beginners.
Visitors may play up to six times per year for a $20 fee on Saturdays and $10 at all other times.
VISITORS MUST SIGN THE CLUB’S VISITOR REGISTER BEFORE PLAY.
Can anyone become a member?
The Club has reached saturation point for members and is tightening requirements for FULL memberships. FULL memberships will only be considered from players of sufficient playing standard.
We will be pleased to arrange a trial for anyone who is NOT sure of their playing standard. Trials are scheduled on Thursday or Saturday afternoons.
Applications for Junior and Mid Week memberships are available on a case by case basis and also include a playing trial. Even so, these prospective members MUST be capable of playing at least the lowest standard of competition at our Club.
Prospective new members are most welcome to visit and play at the Club on a Saturday or Thursday afternoon. Please introduce yourself to our members or our Head Pro, Scott Blackburn.
Is there junior competition?
Please contact the the Manly Tennis Centre for information on junior competitions and clinics.
