Badge Round 11
Our Men’s 3 Team had another big win on the weekend, and at 16 points in front, are looking to be minor premiers.
Our Ladies Thursday Badge Team had a big win also, and are closing the gap on the top 2 teams.
Highlights from Round 11 were:
Manly Men’s 1 had a narrow loss at home to retain 4th position. Sean / Andrew won 3 sets.
Manly Men’s 2 had a narrow win over Manly Men’s 4 to continue their late run for the semis. Despite the loss, Manly 4 advanced to 3rd position with 4 match points. Fernando / Murillo and Mike / Adam won 2 sets each for Manly 2. Sean/Vincent won 3 sets for Manly 4.
Manly Mens 3 had a 7-1 victory away, with the two Steves again winning 4 sets to retain their almost perfect average. Milton/ Howard won 3 sets. Another comprehensive victory.
Manly 6 had a 5-3 loss away at Strathfield to retain 3rd position.
Manly 7 had a bye and dropped to 2nd position. They get the chance to get to first again next Saturday when they play the top team at home.
Our Ladies Thursday Badge had a 7-1 victory to retain 3rd position. Lindy/Erryn won 4 sets and Narelle/Jane won 3 sets.
Ladies 1 Team lost 5-3 at home with Lisa/Janelle playing together for the first time to win 3 sets.
Ladies 2 Team had a washout and were robbed of big points as they were expecting a good win. They drop to 3rd position by half a point. They still have to play the top 2 teams so they have a good chance to take the vital 2nd position.
Some great matches are expected next Saturday as three Manly teams are playing the leading teams in their division. There is another home derby with Manly Men’s 3 playing Manly Men’s 4.
