Club Championships Updates

The A Grade Mixed Final was played on Sunday with Michelle Stevens And Brett Zeola winning in straight sets over Narelle Kinsey and Peter Roberts. The winners will receive their prizemoney on Finals Day whilst the runners up can choose a bottle of wine each from Milton’s wine cellar.

The Ladies finalists are decided after two long matches on Saturday and the top seed Emily Peake defeated Krista Oates whilst second seed and returning past champion Sofie Sullivan was successful over Carolina Penna Y Lillo.

The Ladies Final will be next Saturday at NOON so reserve your seats early.

The top 4 Mens seeds have now reached the semi finals stage and they will battle it out on Saturday following the Ladies Final on Court 1.

Cameron Green defeated Milton on Saturday and he will play Bosko who defeated Roberto Gallardo in his quarter final match.

Then Bosko and Boyd teamed up to defeat Geoff Dunstan and Fernando Alves in a doubles quarter final.
They will take on 2nd seeds Sean White and Jono Walker on Saturday at 5pm
Milton and Jon Corney are waiting to play their semi final at noon on Saturday against the winners on Friday night between Top seeds Cam Green and Todd Maloney v Justin Hooley and Vincent LHeure.

Four time Champion Andrew Riminton had a tough match also defeating Mike O’Connor and he will play Sean White who won thru last weekend.

The Ladies Doubles semis were played and in a marathon effort on Friday evening Sarah Bunting and Krista Oates the 2nd seeds were winners over Sofie Sullivan and Virginia Longfellow.

Then late on Saturday the top seeded Emily Peake and Carolina won over Kristina Curtis and Kirsten Bruce.

The Ladies Doubles Final will be on November 20.

On Sunday the 2nd seeded pairing of Sarah Bunting and Jono Walker had a tough fight to defeat Krista Oates and Todd Maloney In the Mixed doubles semi.

At the same time the 1st seeds in Milton and Carolina won their quarter final Mixed over Virginia and Craig Withell.

They have a tough match next Sunday in their semi final playing Maria Nicol and Andrew Riminton.

The winners to play Sarah and Jono in The Mixed Final on November 20.

The A grade mens singles  quarters and semis were played last Saturday with Alan Bourchardt and Gavin McVean, the top 2 seeds and last years finalists winning through.

Alan defeated Matthew Curtis 9-8 in a long game then demolished a large pizza and went on and won 6-2 6-2 against Stefan Fontes.

Gavin was successful over Hugo in two tough sets.

The Final will be played possibly midweek as both players are  away over the next two weekends.

The A grade mens doubles quarters and semis were played with Top seeds in Alan Bourchardt and Daniel defeating Ray Dummett and Des Tempany on Saturday and Hugo And Christo in a marathon 3 setter on Sunday.

The up and coming pairing of Bede Kirwan and Matthew Curtis with a combined age of 25 years defeated the 2nd seeds with a combined age of 137 years in Denis and Chris Diaz in straight sets.

They will play the final against Alan and Daniel on November 20.

Chris and I are ordering pizzas before the match next time but somehow I don’t think it will help.
